Arteta Warns players Arsenal to deal with the pressure or quit the club as it drives towards the first premier league title in 22 years. The manager of the Arsenal team made a bold statement before the much-needed North London derby.
The Gunners are still two points ahead of the top. There are however some recent outcomes that are causing concern. Arsenal have won only two out of these seven matches in the league. They wasted a 2-0 lead in a dramatic 94 th-minute equaliser against Wolves. That outcome brought out criticism and new allegations that the team does not have the mindset to complete the job.
Mikel Arteta denied the title of the bottlers. He maintained that it is a part of contests to win the largest prizes. In the recent years, Arsenal have been placed second in three occasions, twice behind Manchester City and once behind Liverpool. They are now in another struggle to capture the title that many fans have been demanding more than 10 years.
Arteta expressed his position before the match with Tottenham. He stated that players have to make decisions whether they would like to be involved in the commotion, which would accompany a title race. In case they are unable to cope with it, he proposed that they go to another club. To him, the presence of criticism and tension at this level is inevitable.
In my view, the comments of Arteta are urgent. Arsenal approach a prolonged dry spell that goes back to the Invincibles season of Arsene Wenger in 2003-04. But to bring in a title race it takes a mind more than it takes good.
