Omar Marmoush Tottenham move has been confirmed, with the Egypt international joining Manchester City on a season-long loan that includes an obligation to make the transfer permanent next summer. Marmoush is the second City striker to join Spurs this week after Sávio.
This will reportedly cost Tottenham £50 million in the agreed fee, and up to an additional £10m in bonuses making it £60m. The 27-year-old striker is a part of Roberto De Zerbi’s plans to overhaul an underwhelming Tottenham team last season.
“It feels amazing to be here. I’m excited to work with the team, and looking forward to meeting the fans,” Marmoush said post move. He told the Telegraph that Tottenham’s project appealed to him and that his talks with De Zerbi had made him even more interested in joining.
Marmoush joined Manchester City from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025 and left a positive impression on the club initially. But during his second season, it became more difficult as he was competing with more players for attacking roles as City had their leading man in Haaland.
After making seven Premier League appearances and scoring seven league goals in his first half season at the Etihad Stadium, he has recorded just three goals in 21 appearances last season. His transfer to Tottenham will give him plenty of playing time and a chance to become a more prominent attacking threat.
The transfer is also a big sign-up for Spurs as they have already acquired midfielders Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes, defender Jan Paul van Hecke and Sávio from Manchester City. The initial price for Sávio’s move was £75 million and the add-ons will make it £85 million.
