Haaland Reaches 300 Club Goals

Manchester City extended their undefeated Premier League start with a narrow win at Coventry on Saturday, with Erling Haaland extending his club scoring tally to 300. City scored the winner in the 26th minute and the Norway international came up with the cross to head home as Enzo Maresca brought him back to take charge of the team. Manchester City finished on top of the table again with a 100% win rate.

That was the remarkable feat in only 384 appearances and goals were added during appearances with Molde, Red Bull Salzburg, Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City.

He is in the elite of football with his scoring rate. Haaland has achieved 300 Club goals in less time than Kylian Mbappe (398) and Cristiano Ronaldo (499). Lionel Messi has achieved the same milestone in 365 matches. However, Haaland admitted that he was frustrated that he was not able to put the game beyond doubt with another goal against Coventry, despite making history.

Haaland said after the game that he should have scored more to complete the game. Kept Coventry in the game until the last minute, making it difficult for the team. The striker also emphasized that it was vital to take risks in the top-flight of English football, as missed opportunities can prove decisive in a game.

Haaland scored his first three goals in his last two games, giving Maresca a much needed boost as City start a new chapter after Pep Guardiola left. Having reached the 300-goal club milestone is an impressive achievement for Haaland, who is a goalkeeper by trade, and is still establishing new standards in European football.
