The transfer of Tottenham’s Brazilian winger, Savinho Tottenham, is now closer to being confirmed after Tottenham Hotspur came to an agreement with Manchester City for the fee, which is pegged at £75m with potential add-ons of £10m. The 22-year-old will have a medical before making his long-distance move to north London.
It marks the end of Tottenham’s search for Savinho, which has been going on for over a year. The winger was also looked at by the Spurs last summer, but has opted to stay at Manchester City. His move didn’t secure him a regular place in the team, though, as Savinho only made seven Premier League starts last season.
Roberto De Zerbi have already gone out on a big spending spree in the process of reshaping Tottenham’s squad. The club have spent a combined £185 million on midfielders Mateus Fernandes, who joined West Ham, and Sandro Tonali, from Newcastle, and Savinho’s signing will push Spurs’ summer spending over £300 million.
Tottenham have also made around £140m from players sold, such as Cristian Romero, Djed Spence and Luka Vuskovic to help fund their high spend on recruitment.
The club won’t be blamed for not finishing their business with Savinho. Omar Marmoush is also reportedly in talks to join Manchester City, and could be another club signing from the Premier League champions.
Last season Marmoush was demoted down the pecking order after joining Manchester City on a £59million deal from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2025. There is the potential for the Egypt international to get a chance to play first-team football on a regular basis if his future lies in Tottenham.
With Savinho joining the club, De Zerbi would have another attacking threat to hurl in and combine with, and the possible signing of Marmoush would make Tottenham’s attacking options even more varied.
The deal is one of the largest moves undertaken by Tottenham this summer, especially given that Savinho’s medical is still pending and the club is currently in the process of rebuilding.
