Manchester United’s current plight has grown worse after another poor run of form, and midfielder Carlos Baleba has encouraged his teammates to stay positive and put their best effort into overturning their current situation.
United have found themselves in one of their roughest spots in years, having finished with 17th place in the table with seven points from nine points. They are just outside of relegation on goal difference and just through their longest losing streak since 1984.
They have also been unable to bring any relief during their European campaign. The Red Devils sit in 21st place in the Champions League table with a sole point from the first three games. However, Baleba is confident that all can be salvaged if the team is determined.
The midfielder spoke about the struggles at United and admitted there was a lot of frustration in the club but that things could be better. It has been frustrating, but I personally, at least, feel that we will get out of this situation. [It will] just take time; it is a part of football,” Baleba said.
The players need to find the correct way to get over their problems, and it’s important to have a positive attitude and keep working hard,” he added.
On Tuesday, the next crucial match of their Champions League career will be played between United and AS Roma. The English side has another chance to take control of the game after Roma come into the fray in 15th place with four points. In the interim, head coach Michael Carrick is under growing pressure to step down. Two matches remain to turn things around and improve his record after two defeats, including Bournemouth and Como, and a defeat to Chelsea.
