Bukayo Saka has renewed a long term contract with Arsenal that retained him until 2030. The previous agreement with England international was to run out in 2027, however, both player and club settled on new conditions to retain him in north London.
Saka is an Arsenal product whose emergence in the academy has become one of the most crucial players under its manager, Mikel Arteta. Since Arteta assumed the managerial position, he has been a very significant presence on and off the field as evidenced by his most minutes played. He has increased his presence since his debut at senior level in 2018 by 78 goals in 297 appearances. This has seen him become a crucial figure in both Arsenal and England national team.
In an individual interview with the Arsenal media, Saka showed his pleasure at the contract renewal. He classified the move as a great move to himself and his family as he termed it as having been a no-brainer to remain with a club that he started with. He also mentioned that he is hoping that the coming several years will see the club attain major trophies, with success in the Premiership, the champions league, the FA cup, and the Carabao cup.
The leadership aspect of Sakamoto has also been identified as the 24-year-old has at times been seen wearing the captain armband during this season. Saka, together with William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes, are committed, which is an indication of a stable environment at the Emirates Stadium and a clear vision of the future of the Arsenal club.
